Starting is the hard part
I am Giada Stroppa. I see people in Rome and online who are going through something they can no longer manage alone.
Almost everyone who writes to me has been thinking about it for months. They searched, they read, they closed the page, and then they came back. If that is what you are doing, you are not late: this is exactly where it starts.
You do not need to be able to say already what this is about, or to have a name for what you are living through. That is what a first conversation is for.
Before you write to me
The three things that usually hold people back, already answered.
Fees
Eighty euro a meeting, fifty minutes. A first conversation costs the same and commits you to nothing.
How it works
What happens, from the first message to the last meeting. No surprises and nothing committed to in advance.
Confidentiality
What stays in this room, what I write down, who else could ever read it. With the limits stated in full.
What I work with
If one of these words resembles what you are looking for, start there.
-
Anxiety
When the alertness never switches off and everything seems to need preparing for.
-
Panic attacks
The moment the body sounds the alarm and the mind cannot find the danger.
-
Depression
When everything takes a disproportionate effort and nothing seems worth it.
-
Difficulties in relationships
When the same story repeats itself with different people and you cannot see why.
-
Insomnia and disturbed sleep
The nights when thinking switches on exactly when it should be switching off.
-
Grief and loss
Afterwards, when everyone has gone back to their life and you are left with yours.
How we work together
Three ways of meeting, on the same terms in each.
- A first conversation One meeting to say what is going on and work out whether I can be of use to you.
- Ongoing individual work Continuing work, psychoanalytically oriented, at a frequency we decide together.
- Online consultation The same meetings, by video call, for people who live far from Rome or travel often.
Writing is the first step
Tell me in your own words what this is about. I answer you myself, personally.
